Georges finally catches up to Robert, and tells him that he now knows about the past. As he exhorts Robert to tell him more about himself, Robert is overcome with emotion and kisses Georges. However, Georges realizes that Robert is only seeing the dead girl, Grace, and his words jolt Robert back to his senses. As Georges determines to get his rosary back, he hears Alain's last name, finally learning that Alain was Grace's brother, in name only. As the tragedy of the past is brought to light, Georges must practice the piano for the school festival and music recital, but he cannot concentrate.
