Joseph N. Bell brings us the first complete story-technical as well as personal-of the man-into-space programme.
A free lance writer and contributor to many manor magazines, he became interested in the Project Mercury while visiting the Astronauts at Langley Field, and was awed by the changes the space age has brought to manned flight.
A graduate of the University of Missouri, Bell spent seven years in public relations and advertising before becoming a writer in 1954. He is married and has two children.
