Clyde Smitherson's new school year is off to a bad start. The lead singer of his band kicks him out, and strips him of the guitar he's been borrowing. With no job, no money, no girlfriend, and now no instrument, Clyde feels like his life is over.

But then his mentor gives him an unexpected gift, a supernatural guitar that allows the player to defy gravity. It isn't long before Clyde discovers other students wielding instruments with equally inexplicable traits, and he is thrown into the exciting yet dangerous world of Paranormal Music.

And things only get more complicated, when a record label specializing in "Paranormal Entertainment" invites him to participate in a unique battle-of-the-bands, pitting him against his former lead singer and the ruthless thug guitarist that replaced him.
