Michelle has been released from prison on parole, she's avoiding contact with her daughter Brittany, she thinks it makes the situation safer for all connected with her, especially family.


Brittany is fuming, she was feeling upbeat just after her renal checkup, one of the department nurses, and a former colleague of Michelle, informs Brittany of her mother's freedom. It's a shock! Several days ago on the only permitted prison visit in 12 years, there was no mention of an impending release!


With so much emotional churning, many uncertainities Brittany is adamant about satisfying and consoling herself. With all these questions and some very curious reactions from people she's known for most of life, she makes a bold decision, time to get some private investigators on board. This is a brave act for her, she's not normally given to risking anything outside her comfort zone.


Her decision provides confidence and a sense of safety, whilst the contrary is true, by engaging "Luke Adams and Imogen Morrison", she unwittingly endangers her close friends and relations.
Luke and Imogen are dogged as they "sniff out" a multitude of criminal activity that has further ramifications for the hospital's reputation. Michelle and Brittany must stay sharp, something nasty has turned rotten!


Luke and Imogen are a good supportive team, their professional and personal relationship adds another dimension into this series of novels, Imogen is outgoing, very attractive and at first seems to be an very self indulgent character. This detective team are out to provide the best service they can, the clients remark on how Luke and Imogen are very conscientious, proficient and honest ! "The job's a good one so make it good!"
