Is self worth found in her work or something more?

While the city of Abtshire rejoices in their new-found liberty from Lord Feroci, candlemaker Lydda is at the dawn of her biggest struggle.

It’s nothing new for sickness to slow Lydda down, but she is determined to serve her neighbors and family for their New Year’s celebration. However, after spending a day making torches for the celebration, her energy is spent.

When she passes out at the New Year’s gathering, Lydda is forced to face the reality of her limitations and unknown future. She believes God made her to serve others and fights against her inability to do so.

Her dreams for the new year are being destroyed by illness, and she’s challenged to reevaluate where she places her values. Can she trust God, no matter what?
