That's how I felt while producing some of the hottest Broadway shows New York had ever seen.

My eyes fell on the newspaper my grandmother had discarded on the counter. I picked it up and started sifting through it, keeping my eyes busy to stop myself from thinking. My sights fell on an ad on the back page.

I only read on because I thought it was strange and unique; a person looking for a surrogate so openly in a place like this. And when I read on, I saw the price tag at the end of the page. Total pay: $800,000.

My jaw dropped as I stared, blinking over and over again to ensure that my eyes had not fooled me. It was just so much money.
