Fertility was a life sentence you couldn’t escape from. There weren’t many left who could get pregnant, or make someone pregnant. Human infertility had been progressive – a combination of pollution, disease and genetics. Evolution had decided that the model of Man didn’t work and she was making room for a replacement.
