Episode 1 of 8 The Coming
Tumanbay is recovering from a brutal occupation by the followers of Maya. Manel, daughter of Tumanbay’s greatest commander, now sits on the throne.
The eighth and final episode of series three. Matilla, having murdered her abusive husband returns with Frog to her family home to try to rescue her brother and escape the city.
Meanwhile the treacherous Cadali (Matthew Marsh), now a captive of the priest-like Balarac, is returned to Tumanbay as a gift. As the city welcomes the Balarac in, a new uncomfortable alliance seems to be forming. Or is it a deadly game of deception?

Episode 2 of 8 Two Moons
As Tumanbay prepares for a royal wedding, the return of a certain prominent palace official offers hope for new alliances.
While the kite flyers of Tumanbay risk their lives for new adventure, Heaven (Olivia Popica), whose father was executed during the occupation, attempts to rebuild the family slave business and goes on a voyage to distant shores to purchase slaves, accompanied by one of her father’s business associates, the self-serving Bavand (Peter Polycarpou).

Episode 3 of 8 The Blind Man
Weakened by occupation, an offer of friendship and protection comes from the Balarac, a formidable group of priest warriors led by the blind Grand Master Amalric (Anton Lesser). But protection comes at a price the city can ill-afford.
While General Qulan leaves to build an army, in the palace Gregor (Rufus Wright), the Sultana’s chief spy-master, finds himself in a desperate struggle for power and influence with his adversaries - Alkin (Nathalie Armin) the Sultana’s confident and lover, and Cadali (Matthew Marsh) the ambitious ex-vizier.

Episode 4 of 8 Dark Enterprises
Having bought off the armies of the Balarac with its last reserves of gold, Tumanbay seems secure once more. But there is treachery lurking in the shadows in the form of Cadali, the recently returned vizier, who has his own ambitions to take over the empire.
Meanwhile, the prophet boy Frog (Finn Elliot) is a stowaway on the Balarac’s ships, his mission to kill their leader, the blind Grand Master (Anton Lesser), who he believes is destined to harm the girl he loves. Heaven and Bavand, returning from a slave purchasing voyage, encounter a ship caught on the rocks. It is an encounter that will change Heaven’s fortunes.

Episode 5 of 8 Accidental Hero
General Qulan (Christopher Fulford) travels to the provinces in the hope of raising an army to defend Tumanbay and encounters Fatima (Tara Fitzgerald), a provincial governor’s wife, who has a score to settle with the great commander.
In Tumanbay, a coup is underway and Sultana Manel (Aiysha Hart) and her lover Alkin (Nathalie Armin) face a grim future. Meanwhile, the slave merchant Heaven (Olivia Popica), having been captured by the Balarac at sea, is recruited as reader to the blind Grand Master (Anton Lesser), a position that gives her access to ancient scrolls that appear to unlock profound secrets to the world.

Episode 6 of 8 Fatima
The return of General Qulan (Christopher Fulford) with an army from the provinces offers hope of stability to the city recovering from a recent coup. But with it has come Herod’s ambitious mother, Fatima (Tara Fitzgerald), a new player in the fight for power.
Meanwhile, the slave merchant Bavand (Peter Polycarpou) has found his way back to Tumanbay. With debts to pay, he turns to his one remaining asset, his daughter Matilla (Humera Syed).

Episode 7 of 8 Hostage of Fortune
After his failed bid for power, Cadali (Matthew Marsh) flees across the desert with his son, Selim (Farshid Rokey) while Fatima, set on revenge for her murdered son, sends spymaster Gregor (Rufus Wright) to bring Cadali back.
Meanwhile, the prophet boy Frog (Finn Elliot) has returned to the city and to the girl he loves, Matilla (Humera Syed) believing he has changed her fate.

Episode 8 of 8 The Coming
