Sylvia M. Gutiérrez has spent more than 20 years in the mortgage industry as a residential mortgage loan officer. Born to Cuban immigrant parents, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida International University and currently serves as a Board Member to the South Florida Chapter of the Mortgage Bankers Association and on NAMB’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, co-chairing the subcommittee on Fair Lending topics.

She has worked for banks, non-bank mortgage companies and a small mom and pop broker shop. She enjoys taking a relatively complex process and translating dense technical or legal subject matter into simple human language to get people excited about the possibility of homeownership.
