SHELLEY SAYWELL

Shelley Saywell is a documentary filmmaker whose work has focused primarily on social/political issues, war and conflict, violence against women, and children. Her films won numerous awards, including an Emmy for Investigative Journalism.
Her memoir IF ONLY LOVE Random House Canada 2026, tells the story of the great love and events that shaped her life behind the lens. A book about love and loss, it is love-interrupted story that began when she was seventeen, attending an international school in Kobe, Japan.
Saywell's first book, Women in War, Penguin Viking, along with her film archives have been donated to the University of Toronto.
