A conservation scientist and third-culture Scot, I live by the sea writing speculative fiction influenced by folklore and the wilderness. I am the author of several books, most recently the connected science fantasies We Are All Ghosts In The Forest and The Salt Oracle, and my short and long fiction has won two British Fantasy Awards, a Society of Authors Literary Prize, and been finalist for the BSFA, Saltire and Kavya awards.
