T.L. Bequette is a criminal defense attorney and award-winning author of psychological thrillers, mysteries, and crime fiction. Based in Lafayette, California, he draws on years of courtroom experience defending young men in Oakland accused of serious crimes—bringing a sharp, authentic edge to every story he tells.
His work explores the psychological and moral complexities of justice, where loyalty, truth, and survival are rarely clear-cut. This blend of legal realism and suspense has earned him recognition from the Chanticleer International Book Award, the Independent Press Award for Crime Fiction, and the National Indie Excellence Award.
He is the author of the Joe Turner Mystery Series, including Blood Perfect (2022), A Long Time Dead (2023), and Holler Whispers (2026), with Good Lookin’ and Life Imitates Death forthcoming in 2026.
Bequette holds degrees from the University of the Pacific and Georgetown Law, and serves as an assistant coach for the UC Berkeley Law Mock Trial Team, mentoring future legal professionals.
