Miljenko Jergović is a Bosnian born prose writer. He currently lives and works in Zagreb, Croatia.

Jergović has established himself as a regional writer across the territory of former Yugoslavia and is best known for his prolific work on Balkan history, the Bosnian war, and the Yugoslav legacy. Critics have acclaimed his capability to turn every topic into a story without changing it's core at all, hence preserving its internal logic.

His more acclaimed works include a collection of short stories Sarajevski marlboro (Sarajevo Marlboro, 1994) and widely translated novels like Kin, Ruta Tannenbaum, and The Walnut Mansion. Jergović works as a journalist and has published several collections of his articles and essays.
