ISABEL RICARDO wrote her first book at 11 years old, and has created a vast, award-winning masterpiece, published not only in Portugal but also abroad.

Her first children's book: The Enchanted Forest was published in 1993, with an ecological message, receiving a Culture award.

Revered as a valuable reference in juvenile and young adult's literature, she is the author of successful series such as THE ADVENTURERS, composed by a total of 13 volumes, the first of which is on its 10th edition, the WARRIORS of the LIGHT pentalogy, currently sold out, and also the GRAIL'S SANCTUARY trilogy, which is not yet completed.

The great success among children, The Ghost of the Torn Underwear is in her authorship, as are A Very Interesting Dream, The Greedy Little Bunny, The Adventures of Xico-Larico, The Clumsy Little Bat, The Enchanted Forest, Vitinho's Mischiefs e When I Was A Sparrow.

Isabel Ricardo's children and youth work is characterized by an Environmental concern, as well as the transmission of important messages and values to our youngest, without ever forgetting about humour. Her children and youth books are recommended by several Portuguese Professors.

Possessing a wonderful imagination, her magical, fascinating and very visual writing has come to touch the hearts of readers among all ages, giving them the exhilerating feeling of being in the book itself.

Isabel also develops an intense activity in schools and libraries over all of Portugal, promoting the reading habit in children and young adults. The proximity she maintains with her readers results in a bond which leads to a special friendship and great enthusiasm over her books.

Multifaceted, she also writes for adults and is considered an important reference in historical romance, an expert in creating exciting plots, filled with mystery and suspense, transporting her readers into the dazzled fiction.
She's the author of The Last Conspirator, the mystery book: Crime and Seduction, among others.

She loves to write, read and travel to places who serve as a source of inspiration for her books, as well as the contact with readers in schools she has visited.
She resides in Paço de Arcos, Lisbon, where she dedicates all of her time to writing.
