Bogdan Suceavă studied mathematics at the University of Bucharest and Michigan State University. Since 2002, he lives in California. He is the author of several novels: "Coming from an Off Key Time" (2004), "Miruna, A Tale" (2007), "Vincent the Immortal" (2008), and "The Night Someone Died for You" (2010), all of them written originally in Romanian. His collected short stories are published in 2013 under the title "Can One Hear the Shape of a Drum?"/"Să auzi forma unei tobe". "Memoirs from the Ideal Library" (2013) describe his autobiographical experience of studying geometry from elementary to graduate level; the chapters of the book correspond to various historical episodes in the development of modern geometry and their importance for the author's personal views.
