Ann has been writing for some time but a few rejections discouraged submissions. A short story, Over the Top, was in the top five out of 1,500 in the 2009 ITV ‘This Morning’ competition and Ann was awarded a silver salver ‘for achievement’ at the 2009 Winchester Conference. To hone her skills
In 2011-12, Ann Elliott undertook the UEA Constructing a Novel Workshop.
The death of a writing colleague and a significant birthday prompted her to break into, if not print, e-book indie publishing. Too Many Tenors, drafted some time ago was revised in light of what she learnt at UEA. A collection of short stories will be coming out soon.
Ann has lived in East Anglia for most of her adult life, but needs to indulge in her passion for rugged hills, rock strewn rivers, cliff lined coasts and ‘her’ Sussex Downs. She has always sung in choirs, great and small, and loves early and folk music. She enjoys the countryside,wild flowers, the arts, cats and walking her toy poodle.
