Born in Celano (L'Aquila) he later moved to Rome where he met Pier Paolo Pasolini, Dario Bellezza, Amelia Rosselli, Antonio Veneziani and other writers of the Roman school. and graduated in Italian Literature with Alberto Asor Rosa.
He wrote irriverent and caustic novels about the generation of '68 protests.
He teach in secondary school and then at the university of Salerno and Viterbo where now he teach French Literature. He colaborated with magazines and newspapers as Il Manifesto, Liberazione, il Corriere della Sera, L'Espresso. He also wrote studies about writers as Moravia, Flaubert, Apollinaire and Prévert.
