I didn’t so much find writing as it found me. It didn’t start well, though—I still remember being in first grade, fumbling with letters on a “learning board,” my face burning with embarrassment. “What’s wrong with him?” whispered a classmate as I struggled to make sense of words that refused to take shape.

Years later, after college and a career in something entirely different, there was a floating moment when it all came together. I’d penned an advertisement for a large online retailer, and suddenly I was in demand for my ability to sell with words. All those moments growing up came rushing back—my college writing professors reminding me that if I ever decided to put in the work, I had something worth pursuing. So I did. I began writing stories, articles, and blog posts—constantly.
Before turning to writing full-time, I spent decades guiding mountains and serving as a climbing ranger on Mount Rainier. I trained branches of the armed forces and special operations teams, and founded Peregrine Mountain Guides.
Today, my focus has shifted to storytelling. Though I still lead the occasional expedition, my primary mission is writing. My upcoming Star Dreamers trilogy and the novella Hannah Khalili blend high-octane adventure with sharp, character-driven explorations into this time and place we're all living in, together.. Since publishing my first book in 2021, I’ve carried the same restless drive that once pushed me up mountains into the worlds I now build on the page.
