Mario Monti is an Italian publisher and writer, famous for his historical essays and for his 25 years (1956-1979) like director of the publishing house Longanesi & C. Born in Milan on 5 February 1925 , he lived a long period of his life in New York, discovering a deep passion for the great events of the Old West. Chemichals and Byology graduate, he wrote his first romance when he had 16 years old, starting his publishing career in 1956, like successor of Leo Longanesi, and carrying on this activty until 1979. He is dead in Milan on 27 May 1999.'
