Phil Xue is an optometrist, practice owner, and assistant professor who spends his days helping people see the world more clearly, literally.
By night, he transforms into a children’s book author with a mission: making big, important ideas fun and accessible for kids. His first book teaches financial literacy through engaging stories that stick with young readers long after the last page.
After immigrating to Canada as a child with his mother, he learned through experience that money is not the goal, it is simply a tool. Through years of building a business, investing patiently, and staying calm through uncertainty, he was fortunate to reach financial independence at a young age.
When he’s not examining eyes, teaching optometry students, running his clinic with his wife, or chasing around his two kids, Phil enjoys long-term investing, breakdancing, working out, and diving deep into AI projects. He brings the same analytical mindset and no-nonsense approach from his clinical work into his writing, delivering real value with zero fluff.
Phil lives in Coquitlam, British Columbia, with his wife, and two boys.
