Kielblock studied to become a teacher and was a really good one at that, refusing several offers to become a principal because of his love for writing. In 1970 he received the "Scheepersprys" for Rebel, though most of his adventure stories and spy thrillers make for compelling reading. Another highlight for him was that Jasper le Feuvre was turned into a TV series.
